Russia's dating service "Mamba" has announced a rebranding initiative that will see the launch of an updated app with enhanced fake profile detection algorithms in 2025, according to the service's press office speaking to RIA Novosti.

"The Russian online dating market has changed significantly over the past two years. About a third of users from departed international apps migrated to Mamba. These were predominantly premium iOS users, which positively impacted our financials: by December 2024, Mamba's market share reached 35% in Russia, with revenue growing 20% year-over-year. These new market conditions prompted our transformation," the company stated.

As noted by CEO Andrey Bronetsky, the rebranding aims to "maintain double-digit profit growth" in the coming year.

The company is investing $7 million in rebranding and marketing. Updates will include design changes, where "the signature orange color will be complemented with pink, blue, and yellow."

The press office clarified that the new app version will implement machine learning technologies to detect fake accounts and verify real ones 300 times faster.

Currently, 10% of users are testing the new version. The full rollout is planned within 3-4 months.

Earlier, the service's analysts revealed men's and women's true dating preferences. A study of 3,640 Russians over 18 from major cities showed most believe first-date success heavily depends on location. 77% of women and 72% of men noted the venue can either enhance romance or ruin it. Women prefer cozy restaurants/cafés, while men favor city walks or parks.
